Ordering Online |
Firstly, browse through the relevant categories on the left hand side of the page and click onto the subcategory that is likely to contain the product you want to purchase. From here you will see a number of products, sometimes over several pages, and each product has their own drop-down box containing varients of the product. For example, if you were ordering an aquarium filter there could be different sizes of the same filter in the drop-down box.
Once you have found the product you want, simply select the correct varient from the drop down box, and choose the number you wish to order using the numeric drop-down box next to it. Now click on the 'Add' button to the right to add the item(s) to your shopping basket.
You can continue to add as many products to your basket as you wish, but there is a limit to how many you can add to your basket at a time (this is set at 10) to stop you accidently adding a silly number of products. If you wish to order more than 10, you should add 10 to your basket then return to the product page and add another 10.. and so on until you reach the amount you require.
Once you have finished we recommend you click on the 'View Basket' link to the right of the page, and double check that you have everything you need. At this stage you can also remove items from your basket if you have added too much by clicking on the 'Remove' link next to each product.
When you are happy that your basket contains everything you need, click on the 'Checkout' button to begin to complete the transaction.
Follow the on screen instructions to enter your email address and customer code (if you have one - if not, it doesn't matter). Once you have clicked 'Proceed' you will be taken to Step 2.
Step 2 is to fill in information regarding the destination of your order, again fill in the form as per the on screen instructions to move on to Step 3.
In step 3 you are asked to select a postal service for your delivery, this cost is calculated by the size and weights of the items you added to your basket. The more items you add the better value the postage works out at, so we suggest ordering as much as you can at a time. Click 'Proceed' to move onto the next step.
Step 4 asks you to enter your personal details such as your address, shipping address, post code and email address. You can still opt-out at this stage of the ordering process.
Click the 'Make Order' button at the bottom of the page once you have completed the form correctly and you will be taken to the final stage - entering your credit card details.
This final stage in the ordering process is handled by Protx. This company handles all of our credit card transactions and performs standard security checks to protect Aquamania from fraud purchases. Fill in your credit card details carefully and click on 'Proceed' to complete the purchase, your details are securely held by Protx and Aquamania does not even get to see them! You can still back out at this stage but once you have clicked proceed on the credit card page your card will be charged for the order amount.
Now just sit back and wait! We aim to process all orders as soon as possible and try to keep you updated throughout where possible. If you have any queries regarding your order or wish to change something before it is sent, feel free to email or call us and we'll be happy to help.
Ordering By Phone
Telephone ordering is available for customers who don't feel comfortable entering their credit card details online (though it is 100% safe!). Simply call us on 01254 665662 and ask to make an internet telephone order. You will be passed to the relevant person and your details will be manually processed through Protx. Please note that all website order queries/issues should be directed through email so that we can quickly and accurately answer your message.
Aquamania Tips
1. Try to order as much as possible at a time. The more you order the better value our postage system works out. You can always order more than one of an item and store it for future use!
2. If possible, place your order before 2pm. Due to our standard security checks we must wait 24 hours from time of transaction before we can post out your goods. There is no dispatch after 3pm, so if you can order before 2pm we can pick, pack and dispatch your item the day after you purchase.. otherwise it will be left until the next day to be dispatched.
3. When ordering Live Food such as Daphnia, Brine Shrimp and Bloodworm, try to make your order before 2pm on a Wednesday. We get our live food delivery every Thursday and by ordering early on Wednesdays your card details are processed and security checked in time for a Thursday first class dispatch. This ensures that you get the freshest live food delivered straight to your door!
4. Similarly, when ordering Live Aquarium Plants, try to order before 2pm on a Monday as we get our live plant deliveries on a Tuesday. This doesn't stop you ordering on other days but you may not get the freshest live plants, or your order will be delayed until plants of a suitable qualtity are in stock.
Please note that we reserve the right to substitute plants if one that you have ordered is out of stock, this will be at our discretion but all substitutes will be matched as closely to the out of stock plant as possible. We will always notify you via email when we have substituted a plant. Don't worry though, as we very rarely have out of stock plants and if we do then it's likely only going to be a couple of days until they are back in again.
5. If you are ordering an aquarium, we recommend that you purchase other items such as your tank ornaments, gravels and plants at the same time. We can simply place any other items you order inside the aquarium which saves you money on postage at a later date! Bear in mind that what you order must fit into the aquarium though!
6. Try to order early in the week. The earlier in the week you order general items the better, because if for some reason your item is not in stock the chances are we can order it in before the end of the week. That way the processing time for your order is cut and you don't have to wait until the following week.
7. Unfortunately there is no weekend dispatch. All orders placed after 2-3pm on a Thursday will be dispatched on the following Monday morning - stock depending. This is because after the 24 hour standard security checks have been completed it will be past our last postage dispatch and so won't be sent. Please note that some fragile items cannot be dispatched on Fridays due to the fact they will be held up at the courier's depot over the weekend. By slightly delaying the dispatch of Friday goods to the following Monday, we minimise the risk of fragile items being damaged whilst in storage - which is in the best interests of our customers and our company.
Don't worry you can still make orders both online and via the telephone at weekends. Website orders are processed automatically and staff are available to process your phone orders when necessary.
8. Finally, don't hesitate to contact us before making an order. We can help guide you through the best items to purchase and advise you on when it is likely to be dispatched. Also, if an item that you are looking to order is out of stock for some reason, we can tell you before you order so that you can select an alternative if you want. We're always happy to talk to our customers unlike some of the other large internet supply companies who tend to shy away from direct contact with customers, and you are always welcome to visit us instore too!
