Live Phytoplankton Nannochloropsis Gaditana one of our newer live foods options now available.
Phytoplankton are delivered in a bottle container of your chosen volume (1/2 bottle is approx 500ml, 1 full bottle is approx 1000ml / 1L)

Nannochloropsis gaditana have mostly been known from the marine environment but also occur in fresh and brackish water. They are small, nonmotile spheres which do not express any distinct morphological feature, and cannot be distinguished by either light or electron microscopy.

100ml of Phytoplankton should be used per 200L aquarium - do not use 100ml of Phytoplankton for less than 150L (calculate aquarium size).

They have the added advantage of generally being able to stay alive in the aquarium until they are eaten.
We get regular fresh deliveries of live daphnia, bloodworm, tubifex worms and brine shrimp (and other live foods) every Friday, and all livefood orders are dispatched on Fridays, Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays with 24 hours shipping to ensure best quality on arrival to you.

It is best for phytoplankton to be stored in a cool and dark place - with ice packs to keep cool - however we recommend using as soon as possible on delivery. 

Sizes of foods and amounts may vary from bag to bag and during the warmer and colder seasons. 

Please note: standard weight postage for this item covers up to 1 and 1/2 bottles of phytoplankton or up to 2kg of mixed items (weights are calculated at postage stage and can be viewed on the product attributes section).

During peak summer months (July and August), where the average temperatures around the country are above 25°C, we may withhold delivery of live and frozen foods. This is due to the heat and postal service holts, delays and changes that are common during this period where we cannot guarantee live or frozen deliveries arriving in fresh condition. Deliveries may continue once the temperatures have returned to normal or are more favourable.

Most live foods are heavily stocked every week and can be sent in larger quantities when needed.

Our less popular live foods including Baby Brine Shrimp, Mysis Shrimp, Phytoplankton and Glassworm are carried in a good amount of stock, however larger orders may be delayed whilst we get fresh stock in that following week.

Our cutoff time for larger orders is Monday 3pm - if you place a larger (25+) order after this time, we cannot guarantee that you will receive it that week and it may be delayed till the following week.
