The River Shrimp is a common name of feeding shrimp. They are found in estuary's and venture up rivers. They need brackish or salt water to survive longer. These shrimps are offered as live food, not as shrimps to keep in your tank for a long period. If you have predatory fish like larger cichlids, channa, puffers, large wild betta, etc. then they are a nutritious food for them and a good bit of fun to chase about. Feeding live River Shrimp is a great way to get any of the larger freshwater or marine fish to feed. The shrimps are safe to feed your fish.

Also many customers feed these shrimps to there various Terrapins / Turtles including Musk Turtles, Map Turtles, Yellow Bellied sliders etc along with various Amphibians such as larger Frogs / Toads and Axolotls etc   A portion is between 7 & 10 Shrimps depending on the size Larger towards 7 Smaller towards 10. 

We get regular fresh deliveries of live daphnia, bloodworm, tubifex worms and brine shrimp (and other live foods) every Friday, and all livefood orders are dispatched on Fridays, Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays with 24 hours shipping to ensure best quality on arrival to you.

These are bagged so a maximum of 2 portions are in a single bag.

For Example:

• 1 portion = 7-10 shrimp = 1 single bag
• 2 portions = 14-18 Shrimp = 1 double bag
• 3 portions = 21-25 Shrimp = 1 double bag + 1 single bag

etc.

Please note: standard weight postage for this item covers up to 6 bags of regular mixed live food or up to 4 portions of river shrimp.

It is best for river shrimp to be transferred to a brackish water fish tank as soon as possible however we recommend feeding as soon as possible on delivery. 

During peak summer months (July and August), where the average temperatures around the country are above 25°C, we may withhold delivery of live and frozen foods. This is due to the heat and postal service holts, delays and changes that are common during this period where we cannot guarantee live or frozen deliveries arriving in fresh condition. Deliveries may continue once the temperatures have returned to normal or are more favourable.
