Daphnia are filter feeders and can be very beneficial in ponds and aquariums as they help to clear green water, as well as providing a tasty meal for most freshwater fish. Daphina are often used in School and College Science Lessons to test for the effects of Caffeine on there heart Rates as well.

Bloodworm provide benefits including boosted nutrition, vitamins and proteins, bloodworm and other live foods really are a superb addition to any setup. Fish love variety in their diets and feeding live food is a great way to provide different food types alongside your normal dry fish foods.

Tubifex worms are another choice in live fish foods that are especially handy for feeding to fish who are picky eaters and refuse flakes and other forms of live foods such as bloodworm. Tubifex worms are packed full of proteins and are often used to condition fish for breeding, they are a fantastic food for most Fish especially bottom feeders as they wriggle on the bottom of the substrate attracting even some of the more un-interested fish.

It is best for bloodworm, daphnia and tubifex to be stored in a fridge however we recommend feeding as soon as possible on delivery. 

We get regular fresh deliveries of live daphnia, bloodworm, tubifex worms and brine shrimp (and other live foods) every Friday, and all livefood orders are dispatched on Fridays, Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays with 24 hours shipping to ensure best quality on arrival to you.

During peak summer months (July and August), where the average temperatures around the country are above 25°C, we may withhold delivery of live and frozen foods. This is due to the heat and postal service holts, delays and changes that are common during this period where we cannot guarantee live or frozen deliveries arriving in fresh condition. Deliveries may continue once the temperatures have returned to normal or are more favourable.
